Oscar-winning sequel Gladiator 2 has completed script

The Oscar-winning film "Gladiator" directed by the famous Hollywood director Ridley Scott is preparing to shoot a sequel. Recently, Ridley Scott revealed the progress of "Gladiator 2" in an interview with Deadline: the script has been completed.

Ridley Scott said: "So we have a good, logical basis," adding: "You can't do another Gladiator-type movie, you have to follow... There's enough of the first one to carry us forward and keep moving forward."

The protagonist of "Gladiator", Maximus played by Russell Crowe, has died in the film. The protagonist of the sequel will be Lucius, the son of Lucilla played by Connie Nielsen and the nephew of Commodus played by Joaquin Phoenix. The story is still set in the cruel world of ancient Rome. It is expected that the background time will jump a lot compared to the first part.

Scott's next film is not this one, but "Soldier's Bag" starring Joaquin Phoenix and Jodie Comer, focusing on the story of Napoleon Bonaparte.
