Sofia Boutella plays the female lead in Zack Snyder's new sci-fi film

The next movie produced by the famous American director Zack Snyder for Netflix will be a science fiction action film called "Rebel Moon". French actress Sofia Boutella, who played the "female mummy" in the new version of "The Mummy" and the sharp prosthetic leg in "Kingsman: The Secret Service", has become the only confirmed cast member.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Rebellion Moon" will be Zack Snyder's sci-fi version of "Seven Samurai", and Sofia Boutella will play the heroine.

"Rebellion Moon" plot summary:

A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the tyrannical Regent Lord Balisarius. A young woman must seek out warriors from nearby planets to defend her home.

Zack Snyder will co-write the script for the new film with Army of the Dead director Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. He also shared that he had recommended a Star Wars script similar to this one to Lucasfilm as an original story after Return of the Jedi. But now he has decided to make this film as an original movie.

There are currently no further details about the film, and other actors and roles have not been confirmed.
