Marvel CEO: "Eternals" will redefine the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Marvel superhero movie "Eternals" will be released in North America on November 5. In a recently released behind-the-scenes special, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige said that the film "will redefine the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

The special pointed out that the Eternals had never interfered in human fights before, and even remained silent when Thanos came, because they were ordered not to intervene unless the Deviants showed up.

Among the ten Eternals, five are thinkers and the other five are warriors. This setting is based on the primitive human society: fighters, generals, warriors, gladiators, philosophers, inventors, priests, and healers, and both sides complement each other in their work.

Director Zhao Ting revealed some details of the film in an interview with Fandango. She said that the film will tell the audience about the origin of the Marvel Universe through the myths and legends of the Celestials. "By the end of the film, everyone will have a new understanding of the relationship between the Earth and the universe, and between the Earth and its people."

During the creative process, Zhao Ting and the visual effects, action, and art teams drew inspiration from many movies, including Terrence Malick's films, especially "The Tree of Life" and "The New World". Two other films that were watched repeatedly were "The Revenant" and "Interstellar". The list also included "Blade Runner 2049", "Reincarnation" and, most importantly, "2001: A Space Odyssey".

She also said that there are two Easter eggs in the movie and "both will surprise the audience."
