Scarlett Johansson settles contract dispute with Disney for $40 million

The dispute between "Black Widow" Scarlett Johansson and Disney began in late July this year. Disney's mixed distribution strategy for the movie "Black Widow" caused Scarlett Johansson to suffer millions of dollars in losses. Disney Studios Chairman Alan Bergman said Disney will continue to work with Scarlett Johansson on other films: "I am pleased to see Scarlett Johansson and Disney working to reach a consensus on the Black Widow dispute. We thank her for her contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will work with her on the new project The Magic Hotel."

The two sides did not disclose the details of the deal, but according to Deadline sources, Disney has agreed to pay Johnson more than $40 million to resolve the conflict.
