'The Saint' Movie to Reboot 'Bridgerton' Star Reggie-Jean Page Joins

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Regé-Jean Page, who starred in the first season of Netflix's American drama "Bridgerton", has signed on to star in the reboot of "The Saint".

Paramount is producing a new version of The Saint, with the script to be written by playwright and actor Kwame Kwee-Armah. The film is based on the novel by Leslie Charteris, and tells the story of a detective and thief named Simon Templar who fights the forces of evil. The series has been adapted into television series and movies many times. The most recent example is the 1997 film The Saint, starring Val Kilmer, who portrayed Templar as a master of disguise.

According to Hollywood reports, Chris Pine had joined the "Saint" adaptation last year. However, the project was shelved later. At that time, the film was directed by Dexter Fletcher, but he is now filming the "Godfather" series produced by Paramount. It is still unclear whether Dexter Fletcher will continue to participate in the new "Saint" movie.

This isn't the only big project Regé-Jean Page has with Paramount. He's also signed on to film a live-action Dungeons & Dragons adaptation for the studio, which will feature a cast that includes Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu) and Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious 9).

A release date for the new series hasn't been announced yet, but given that the script is still being developed, it probably won't be coming out especially soon.
