Netflix obtains streaming rights to Stephen Chow's animated film "The Monkey King"

Today (May 21), Netflix announced that it has obtained the streaming distribution rights for the comedy animated film "The Monkey King" produced by Stephen Chow. The film is expected to be released in 2023. The official concept map has also been exposed. Let's take a look!

The story of The Monkey King is inspired by Journey to the West and tells the story of "a magical monkey and his golden cudgel, fighting against gods, monsters, dragons and his own arrogance."

"The Monkey King" is directed by Anthony Stacchi (The Boxtrolls), and produced by Oriental DreamWorks' Zhou Peiling (Abominable) and Kendra Haaland (Mulan). The English dubbing lineup includes Ouyang Wancheng, Yang Bowen, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, B.D. Huang, etc.
