Lucy Liu joins DC's new film "Shazam! 2" as the villain

According to foreign media Screenrant today (April 13), Chinese-American actress Lucy Liu has joined the DC new film "Shazam: Wrath of the Titans" and plays the villain Kalypso. She and another villain Hespera (played by Helen Mirren) are sisters, both of whom are daughters of Atlas, one of the ancient Greek Titan gods.

Lucy Liu's representative works include "Charlie's Angels", "Kill Bill", "Elementary", "Desperate Housewives", etc.

"Shazam! 2" is directed by David F. Sandberg, produced by Peter Safran, and written by Henry Gayden. The film is scheduled to start shooting in May, and the addition of two powerful actors, Lucy Liu and actress Helen Mirren, also makes the film's lineup more luxurious.

"Shazam 2" will be released in North America on June 2, 2023.
