Chen Sicheng responds to "Detective Chinatown 3" disrespecting women: I can't do that

There is a scene in Detective Chinatown 3 where a female nurse is beaten violently, and lines about 36D and Tokyo Fever appear, which has caused some controversy, with some people believing that the film does not respect women. Chen Sicheng directly addressed this issue at the Detective Chinatown 3 chat session, saying that he did not expect this effect in his work at the beginning, and that he would not insult or slander women, "impossible."

In his response, Chen Sicheng said that he is a "straight man" and it is "impossible" for him to insult women. "I have always believed that women are the cutest creatures on this earth. I think women are more beautiful than men, so I didn't expect such an effect (disrespect for women) in my work." He also believes that "having a little bit of adult jokes" is one of the tricks in comedy.

At present, the total box office of the movie "Detective Chinatown 3" has exceeded 4 billion. It was directed by Chen Sicheng, starring Wang Baoqiang and Liu Haoran, and starring Satoshi Tsumabuki, Tony Jaa, Masami Nagasawa and others. It was released in mainland China on February 12, 2021.
