A new version of Miike Takashi's masterpiece "Yokai War" with new characters will be released this summer

Takashi Miike's famous movie "Yokai War" is about to launch a new version "Yokai War: Guardians", which is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2021. Recently, the official has announced many new characters. Let's take a sneak peek.

The old version of "Yokai War" was released in 2005. The new version is called "Yokai War: Guardians", which tells a new story about a fifth-grade elementary school student named Watanabe who inherited the blood of a monster hunter and embarked on a great adventure with monsters. The survival of the world hangs on a thread.

The new characters revealed this time are all from famous traditional Japanese monsters. From left to right are Tengu played by Miura Takahiro, Gyoutori played by Ando Sakura, Yokaido played by Omori Nanpei, Orangutan played by Okura Koji, and Yuki Onna played by Oshima Yuko.
