Ukiyo-e style "Mononoke" theatrical version trilogy plan announced official release of "Mononoke: Kara Umbrella" special trailer

The animated theatrical version of "Mononoke: Kara Umbrella", produced by EOTA Animation and directed by Kenji Nakamura, was released in Japan on July 26.

It is understood that "Mononoke: Kara Umbrella" was launched as a 15th anniversary commemorative work, and the official also released a new special trailer on the release day to promote it.

With the release of the theatrical version, the official also announced a new series plan, which will develop a new trilogy of movies starting with "Mononoke: Kara Umbrella". The second part is "Mononoke: Fire Rat", which is expected to be released nationwide in Japan on March 14, 2025.

The original animation of "Mononoke", which has a unique Ukiyo-e style and gorgeous visual effects, was originally launched as the story of the last unit of the 2006 animation "Mononoke". Due to its wide acclaim, it was produced as a separate series and began to be broadcast in July 2007.
