Netflix's Sonic 3D Animation Will Not Be Based on the Sonic Manga

Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most popular characters in the history of games. In addition to video games, it has also spawned movies, comics and other works. Last month, Netflix announced that it would create a 3D animation for Sonic. It is reported that this 3D "Sonic the Hedgehog" produced by Netflix will be jointly created by SEGA, WildBrain and Man of Action, and will be broadcast in 2022.

However, Netflix did not reveal any more details about the 3D animation. However, recently, cartoonist Ian Flynn said that the 3D "Sonic" animation produced by Netflix will not be based on the "Sonic" series of comics produced by IDW. It seems that the animation may become another original work in the "Sonic" derivative series.
