The latest installment in the Deadpool film series, Deadpool vs. Wolverine, was a success after it was released, breaking the record for the opening of an R-rated film. However, whether actor Hugh Jackman, who returned to play Wolverine in the movie (he retired from the role after "Wolverine 3"), will continue to appear in the Marvel Universe has become a focus of many viewers. Recently, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige hinted at the actor plans for the role of Wolverine in future Marvel movies in an interview with foreign media "Discussing Film". Kevin Feige first said that Marvel is about to start celebrating its 85th anniversary, and Disney has already celebrated its 100th anniversary. He believes that "these (Marvel) characters will exist for another 100 years", which will be longer than the existence of all people. Because of this, Kevin Feige believes, "There will definitely be [another actor who will eventually play Wolverine]. I think it will be a very different style and a different approach. I also think it would be a pretty big mistake if someone tried to emulate Hugh Jackman as Wolverine." This means that while aging actor Hugh Jackman won't be leaving the role immediately (again), as the X-Men are more integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, newcomers will inevitably be added to interpret Wolverine in a different way. |
