"The Meg 2" movie officially announced that Jason will return and start filming in 2021

The Sino-foreign co-production film "The Meg 2" was officially announced today and is scheduled to start shooting in 2021. The starring Jason Statham will return, and the sequel will be directed by Ben Wheatley, the director of the new version of "Rebecca".

Directed by Joe DeTurduba, The Meg grossed over $530 million worldwide, including 1 billion RMB (nearly $150 million) in China, with a budget of around $130-178 million. The film revolves around an international scientific research project led by China, in which scientists were attacked by unknown creatures in the depths of the Mariana Trench.

It is worth mentioning that Ben Wheatley will also be the director of the movie "Tomb Raider 2", but MGM recently announced that the movie "Tomb Raider 2" has been postponed indefinitely.
