The American TV series "Brave New World", adapted from the classic dystopian novel, recently released the first batch of stills and announced that it will be broadcast online on July 15 this year. "Black Mirror" director Owen Harris will direct the first episode and serve as executive producer. The film is set in London in 2540 AD, and describes a series of technologies in a "civilized society" that is very different from today's society: such as human test tube cultivation, sleep learning, psychological manipulation, and the establishment of infant conditioned reflexes. In order to ensure the peace and stability of the utopian society, the rulers prohibit the existence of concepts such as monogamy, personal privacy, money, family, and even history. The cast includes Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones), Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), as well as Demi Moore (Ghost), Kelly Bunbury (Under the Dome), Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man 2), Joseph Morgan (The Originals), Nina Sosanya (Killing Eve), etc. The series revolves around the story of the "happy" future world of New London and the strict hierarchical society. Bernard Marx (Harry Lloyd) and Lenina Crowne (Brown Findlay) live in New London. They only know the strict social order and a perfect drug called Soma. The two soon become dissatisfied with this social constraint and choose to go on vacation to the wild land, but they are involved in a terrible riot. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by the wild man John (Alden Ehrenreich), and the three return to New London together, but they greatly threaten this civilized society... |
