The popularity of the Borderlands series in recent years may have made you forget that Gearbox previously had a well-known World War II shooting game series, Brothers in Arms. After confirming that a new game in the series is under development, Brothers in Arms will also follow the footsteps of Borderlands and be adapted into a film and television work. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a TV series based on the 2005 Gearbox game Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30 is in the works. The story of the TV series will be changed to focus on how eight soldiers rescued the colonel from the enemy. The first few episodes of the first season will focus on a pre-D-Day exercise, a real secret operation called Tiger that killed more than 800 American soldiers. Scott Rosenbaum (Queen of the South, Black and White) will serve as showrunner, with Gearbox's Randy Pitchford serving as executive producer. "What I like and what I've never seen before is that we explore the German soldiers and civilians, as well as the senior commanders on both sides," Scott Rosenbaum told The Hollywood Reporter. "We meet all these real people and see the effects and the big mysteries." The 2005 release of Brothers in Arms: The March to Hill 30 received excellent reviews from the media, with both IGN and GameSpot giving it a score of more than 9. The full production of the TV series Brothers in Arms is still a long way off, and the project is still looking for a director and a broadcast partner. |
