New character of "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045" revealed, Hayashibara Megumi confirmed to play the role

The new 3DCG animation "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045" will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix tomorrow, April 23rd. Today, on the 22nd, the official announced the key character of the latest story, the mysterious boy "SHIMAMURATAKASHI". Veteran voice actor Hayashihara Megumi has been confirmed to star in the role, so stay tuned.

As the first 3DCG work of "Ghost in the Shell", "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045" will be co-directed by Kenji Kamiyama, the director of the "Ghost in the Shell SAC" series, and Shinji Aramaki, the director of "EVA: Top Secret Assault" and "Appleseed". The film tells the story of the world in 2045 where the full-scale "Perpetual War" officially begins. The former elite members of Japan's Public Security Section 9 are hired to perform missions, but they encounter challenges from the suddenly emerging post-humans with highly intelligent and physical advantages.

The mysterious boy "SHIMAMURATAKASHI" is just a 14-year-old boy. His actual identity is one of the three awakened humans in Japan. Officials said that he will be a key figure in the story and will be played by Hayashibara Megumi.
