Sonic the Hedgehog movie released digitally ahead of schedule, just 46 days before theatrical release

The public health crisis has changed the way most of the film industry giants handle home entertainment programs in the past two weeks. Traditionally, it takes several months for movies to be released online after being released in theaters, but now Disney, Lionsgate, Sony, Universal, Warner and other companies have announced plans to launch new works early on their own or cooperative home video on demand platforms, including "Birds of Prey" and "The Invisible Man".

The performance of "Sonic the Hedgehog" exceeded expectations. Although the release period was very short due to the impact of the epidemic, it still earned $306 million in box office worldwide. The film was originally scheduled to be released in China on February 28, but was eventually withdrawn, and the new release date has not yet been determined.
