Thor actor may appear in Transformers + G.I. Joe movie

According to DEADLINE, Paramount Pictures is producing a Transformers/G.I. Joe movie, and Marvel Thor star Chris Hemsworth may star in the film.

The report added that the deal would build on Hemsworth's existing relationship with Paramount's Transformers: Reborn, in which he voices Optimus Prime. The animated film is set to be released in September.

The post-credits scene for 2023's Transformers: Rise of the Power Rangers mentions a shared universe with G.I. Joe, which would mark the first crossover between two of Hasbro's most iconic toy brands. Aside from Hemsworth, the project's cast and crew are not yet known.

In early 2024, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura hinted that the Transformers/G.I. Joe movie will be released as early as 2026. He also revealed some information about the direction of the film: "We are now exploring how to do this. We hope to launch it in the summer of 2026, and we will definitely deliver on the promise of G.I. Joe entering this world. People have been saying that this is a crossover. In my opinion, this is not a crossover, but one or more characters of G.I. Joe entering the world of Transformers, not a mixture of the two."
