According to statistics from the State Administration of Radio and Television, from January 25 to February 9, the average daily number of cable TV and IPTV viewers nationwide increased by 23.5% compared with December last year, and the total viewing time increased by 41.7%. The average daily viewing time in front of the TV was nearly 7 hours.

The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television said that in previous years, the peak viewing time was usually from New Year's Eve to the seventh day of the first lunar month, but this year's viewing has been rising all the way, with the average daily viewing time from the tenth to the sixteenth day of the first lunar month up 3.2% from New Year's Eve to the seventh day of the first lunar month.

News programs had the largest increase in ratings. The ratings of evening news on local satellite TV channels across the country increased significantly, with 12 provinces seeing an increase of more than 50%. Among them, Hubei Satellite TV's evening news saw an overall increase of 531% in ratings during this period, and the number of viewers increased by 906%.

From January 27 to February 9, the average daily viewing time of TV dramas increased by 15% compared with December last year. The single-channel ratings of "The Twins", "My Next Stop Is Happiness" and "New World" all exceeded 1%. The number of readings of the topic "My Next Stop Is Happiness" on Weibo reached 9.15 billion times.
