The first season of the "Star Wars" spin-off "The Mandalorian" was broadcast on December 27 last year. The second season has already started filming and will officially return in the fall of 2020. Recently, IGN gave the final score of "The Mandalorian" Season 1: 8 points. IGN said that although "The Mandalorian" Season 1 still has some rough flaws, this drama is still the kind of "Star Wars" series that everyone has been looking forward to. IGN: Every TV show takes time to find its footing in its first season, and The Mandalorian's greatest strengths — its wild shifts in tone, its spinoff standalone episodes, and its long, drawn-out dialogue — are arguably exacerbated by the shortened episode order and weekly release schedule, and will hopefully be addressed by the time executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have their first season ready. But when the show is firing on all cylinders — as it does at its beginning and end — it brings all the fun, escapism, and earnest heart (and the occasional raunchy scenes) of the original "Star Wars" trilogy to the table. There's a soft, sentimental core beneath all that beskar armor, and that makes The Mandalorian one of the most irresistible Star Wars stories we've seen in years. In addition to the 8 points from IGN, The Mandalorian Season 1 also received a score of 9.3 on Douban, 8.9 on iMDb, and a 94% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, all of which set a record for the series' reputation. Only the rating on Metacritic, a popular review site, was worrying, with an average score of only 69 points. The second season of the "Star Wars" spin-off series "The Mandalorian" has begun filming and will officially return in the fall of 2020. |
