40 years of continuous serialization of "Ulong Police Station"! Interview with Akimoto Osamu

On September 17th three years ago, "Kochikame", a work by Osamu Akimoto and serialized for 40 years, officially ended in the 200th volume. Today, three years later, foreign media brought the minutes of an exclusive interview with Osamu Akimoto. Let's learn about the master's experience of working tirelessly for 40 years.

The boys' manga "Uron Police Station" has repeatedly broken the Guinness World Record for the number of serializations. It is the work with the most serializations in Japan's Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump". It was announced to be completed on September 17, 2016, but it has shown signs of revival recently.

·Interview summary of Akimoto Osamu:

·Strictly adhere to the deadlines for submission, and it is inevitable to work overtime all night.

The original 7-day delivery period was successfully maintained at 5 days through hard work, and time can still be squeezed out.

I consider myself to be a carefree person, but I never relax when it comes to work.

·As a cartoonist, social experience is also very important.

I originally planned to finish "Kochikame" until I died, but I still made the difficult decision to finish it at 200 volumes.

·It has been 3 years since the end, and I often think of the old days of the Oolong Police Station. I would like to relive the old days if I have the chance in the future.
