Former Bond Pierce Brosnan: It's time for a woman to play the super-agent

Pierce Brosnan, who played the legendary super spy James Bond four times in the series (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, 1994-2002), was recently asked by The Hollywood Reporter about his opinion on women playing Bond. The veteran actor's answer was very direct, he thought it was time to give the title of Bond to a woman.

"For the past 40 years we have been using men to do this (playing Bond). Later on, boys, we should let women play this role , which will be exciting and refreshing."

Earlier, there were rumors that in the next Bond film "Bond 25", which has been restarted, the current Bond will hand over the baton to the black female character played by Lashana Lynch in a certain plot. At present, this detail has yet to be confirmed, but the current Bond actor Daniel Craig does plan to officially retire after "Bond 25" and will no longer play this super agent.

Brosnan also mentioned in the interview that while it would be a very exciting idea to have a woman play James Bond, it might not really happen under the supervision of the current producers, the Broccoli family.

As early as 2017, model, singer and actress Cara Delevingne told the public that she hoped to play Bond one day. "Everyone says I should be a Bond girl, but first, I want to work on James Bond himself. I don't mind being a Bond girl, but I prefer the role of James himself."
