The producer of the TV series "The Witcher" talks about the impact of fans' opinions on the plot: We can talk if we talk properly

The Netflix TV series version of The Witcher will be aired in December this year, and the plot is adapted from the original novel. So, will the fans' response to the show have an impact on the plot? Lauren S. Hissrich, the producer of The Witcher TV series, talked about this at the SDCC 2019 Comic Exhibition. Her answer was quite simple and frank: there will be an impact, but it is only the most basic impact.

Lauren S. Hissrich, producer of The Witcher TV series, talked about this at a roundtable at the SDCC 2019 Comic-Con, saying that sometimes fans' responses will make the crew reflect, but it won't have that kind of 1:1 scale of impact.

“I think when I join a show, I meet with the writers the day before and I have my own way of telling a story, and then in the writers’ room everyone has their own way of telling a story, and there are nine people in the room, and of course my way of telling a story is not necessarily the best, and then I find the easiest way to do my job,” Hissrich said.

" Of course, that is to collect fans' opinions. There are definitely some people on Twitter who point out some of our problems, and I will say, 'I really didn't expect it.' I will bring these opinions back to the screenwriter's room, but this does not mean that we will change the creativity of the story itself. In order for us to look at one thing from multiple angles, I think this is the best way to use fan feedback. "

Then, Hissrich added: "Twitter is a social media with all kinds of monsters and demons. There are many fans who really pay attention to this drama and want to give us some constructive suggestions and try hard to make us understand. So I also choose to talk to you to clarify the problem. However, if you are particularly rude and behave like a scumbag, then I will not bother to pay attention to you. However, as a fan, if you think that I will mess up this IP adaptation that you love, I can assure you again that I will not. "

The first season of Netflix's new drama "The Witcher" will have a total of 8 episodes and will be aired in December this year.
