Venom 2 director confirmed! Expected to be released in October 2020

Andy Serkis confirmed on Twitter today that he will direct Venom 2 for Sony Pictures.

Serkis said on Twitter: "Here it comes, the symbiote has found a host inside me and I'm ready for new adventures. Can't wait. #Venom #Venom2 #Marvel".

Andy Serkis is a well-known motion capture actor who has played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He has also played the villain Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther. He is also a director, having directed the films Breathe and Mowgli.

Tom Hardy will continue to play Venom, and Kelly Marcel, the screenwriter of the first film, will return to write the script. The film is expected to start shooting in November this year and is expected to be released in October 2020.
