Former 'MythBusters' host returns to TV with new show 'Savage Builds'

Adam Savage, co-host of the popular MythBusters, will return to the Science Channel in a new eight-episode series called Savage Builds, where he'll show us how to build a variety of new and interesting gadgets, including a flying Iron Man suit, World War II weapons, and a junkyard monster.

According to a series of tweets released by Savage on Wednesday, he will be joined by experts, colleagues and filmmakers Peter Jackson, former "MythBusters" actor Tory Belleci and others to present a series of exciting plots.

In one episode, Savage attempts to recreate a working World War II weapon - The Great Panjandrum.

"The rocket-propelled explosive device that the British Army hoped to use during World War II ended up being a bad example in engineering history.

At the same time, NASA engineer Adam Steltzner will also be on hand to provide design assistance to Savage's team. As for the Iron Man suit, support is also indispensable from Richard Browning, the manufacturer of the Gravity Jet Suit. "

Additionally, roboticist Simone Giertz and maker Laura Kampf helped Savage build three Mad Max-style garbage trucks—collecting raw materials from scrapyards to create a "world-destroying" monster.

Savage said in a statement that the new series is full of exciting moments.

“When we try to solve the really ridiculous ideas that have been in our heads for a long time, we get to work with some of the smartest people in the world. And the most important thing is, the more ridiculous the idea, the more likely it is to lead to the most innovative engineering marvel.”

It is reported that Savage's new show "Savage Builds" will officially be broadcast on the Science Channel in June this year, but will also be available on the Discovery Channel later.
