"Godzilla vs. Kong 2" grossed nearly $200 million worldwide, with domestic box office exceeding $300 million

The blockbuster "Godzilla vs. Kong 2" released on March 29 (last Friday) had a remarkable performance at the global box office in its first weekend. According to foreign media, the film's global opening has reached nearly $200 million (US$194 million), and is currently the highest-grossing film in the world in its first weekend in 2024. The film's budget was only US$135 million.

"Godzilla vs. Kong 2" has been released in China for 4 days, and the box office has exceeded 319 million yuan, close to the 334 million yuan of "Dune 2", but the latter has been released for 25 days.

"Godzilla vs. Kong 2" currently has a Douban score of 7.2, which is only 0.1 point lower than the score of 7.3 on the first day of its release.
