Oxford English Dictionary includes popular word from Japanese novels, comics and anime: "Isekai"

According to The Guardian, the Oxford English Dictionary added 23 Japanese words in a recent update, including a popular term from Japanese manga and anime: isekai (different world).

The official Oxford English Dictionary website defines isekai as: A genre of Japanese science fiction or fantasy in which the protagonist is transported or reincarnated into a different, strange, or unfamiliar world. The latest example of this genre is Hayao Miyazaki's new film, How Do You Live?, which tells the story of 12-year-old Maki Maki's discovery of a mysterious abandoned tower that opens the door to the "world of the dead."
