The suspense remains! Director Nolan's next film will try a romantic theme

Christopher Nolan's next film is rumored to be a romantic suspense drama similar in tone to his old film North by Northwest.

According to the official Twitter account of Production Weekly, this unnamed mysterious film is described as " North by Northwest meets Inception ". The film is reportedly scheduled to start shooting in July this year, and Hoyte Van Hoytema, the cinematographer and editor who has worked well with Nolan in Interstellar and Dunkirk, will also join the team.

Although Nolan is known for his unique narrative structure and subversive creative films, he seems to have little experience in romantic love scenes. However, since "North by Northwest" is used as a comparison, Nolan must be able to handle the similar suspense style with ease. Although "Inception" and "The Dark Knight" trilogy do contain some love scenes between men and women, Nolan's early films "Following" and "Memento" are obviously closer to this theme than his later works.

The new film directed by Christopher Nolan for Warner Bros. is expected to be released in July 2020.
