China's total box office in 2018 reached 60.976 billion yuan: domestic films made a huge contribution

According to IT Home, Alibaba Pictures officially announced this morning that the total box office of Chinese films in 2018 reached 60.976 billion yuan, with domestic box office contribution exceeding 60%. Four domestic films, including Operation Red Sea, Detective Chinatown 2, Dying to Survive, and The Richest Man in Xihong City, ranked in the top four. Dying to Survive won the highest-rated film.

Data shows that last year the total box office in the country was about 55.9 billion yuan (domestic films accounted for about 30.1 billion yuan), 92 films had box office revenue of over 100 million yuan (51 of which were domestic films), and the number of moviegoers in urban theaters reached 1.62 billion.

In November this year, the national movie box office in 2018 has exceeded the whole year of 2017. On December 22, 2018, the total number of screens in the country exceeded 60,000. In 2018, a total of 393 domestic films were released, 122 foreign-language films were introduced, and 80 films had a box office of over 100 million yuan.
