The script for the new Alien movie has been written, but it probably won't be made

According to foreign media reports, although the latest masterpiece of the classic sci-fi series "Alien", "Alien: Covenant", failed miserably at the global box office, according to the latest news, "Alien: Covenant" co-screenwriter John Logan said that the script for the sequel "Alien: Awakening" has been completed and is currently waiting for filming.

The story of Awakening will be a continuation of Covenant, with Michael Fassbender's android David causing a massacre on the planet Paradise, killing the engineers. A group of engineers who survived the massacre will launch a revenge plan against David. The main stage of this revenge may be the planet LV-426, where Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) first encountered the alien in the first Alien movie directed by Ridley Scott. This means that Fassbender's character will be brought back to the world of the original Alien trilogy movie.

But in fact, the possibility of "Alien: Awakening" being made into a movie is very small. As early as the end of last year, it was reported that Fox had stopped the filming plan of the sequel. The production budget of "Covenant" released in the summer of 2017 was close to 100 million US dollars, but it only earned 74 million US dollars at the box office. Although the global box office of the film reached 240 million US dollars, it shows that the audience lacks this series of movies.

Ridley Scott is currently busy with several films including Gladiator 2 and Battle of Britain. It is unknown whether he will return to direct the sequel.
