"Pacific Rim" and "Altered Carbon" will launch original animations produced by Netflix

Recently, streaming giant Netflix held its first Asian content showcase in Singapore, announcing several original animation projects, the most eye-catching of which was the animated version of "Pacific Rim".

The background setting of the animated version is consistent with the two live-action movies, but the protagonists are changed to a pair of brothers and sisters. In this world where alien monsters persist, the idealistic brother is forced to drive a mecha with his naive sister. They are desperate to find their missing parents.

The animation is still produced by Legendary Company, co-produced by Craig Kyle (Thor 3) and Reg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution).

In addition, the world view of "Altered Carbon" will also be extended to launch a new science fiction animation series created by Anima Animation Company, and the script will be written by Dai Sato and Tsukasa Kondo, the screenwriters of "Cowboy Bebop".

"Full Metal Panic" director Chiaki Koichi will cooperate with Netflix to bring the manga of the same name "Cagaster of the Insect Cage" to the streaming media. The story is set in the future, where a mysterious disease turns humans into giant killer insects. The drama is produced by GONZO Co., Ltd.

LeSean Thomas, director of "Cannon Busters", will create an original animation. The story is set in feudal Japan. The protagonist is a ronin who has retired from the underworld and is responsible for escorting a mysterious child who dark forces want to get rid of. Lakeith Stanfield will voice the animation, which will be created by MAPPA Animation Studio.

There is also the animation "Trese" set in Southeast Asia, which is based on folk legends and adapted from the comic of the same name, telling the story of supernatural creatures committing crimes.

In addition, Netflix will create two original Thai animations, one telling the story of middle school students surviving the tsunami, and the other telling the horror story of five teenagers being haunted by ghosts.

This round of Netflix's layout will allow more two-dimensional users to open Netflix to watch new episodes.
