Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 production put on hold, new director not found yet

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will temporarily halt production as Disney is still looking for a replacement for former director and screenwriter James Gunn.

Disney reportedly told the Atlanta crew that they were now free to work on other productions.

According to previous plans, "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" will start shooting in January or February 2019, so a small group of crew members came to Atlanta to prepare for the pre-production of "Guardians of the Galaxy 3".

THR's sources said the suspension was a "temporary reorganization" and the search for a new director will continue.

THR also added that Thor 3 director Taika Waititi recently met with Marvel, but it is not clear what projects the two sides discussed.
