The comic "Thermae Romae" created by Mari Yamazaki tells the story of Lucis Mudestre, a bathhouse designer in the Hadrian era of ancient Rome, who traveled through time and space to a bathhouse in modern Japan when he was worried about not being able to find inspiration for the bathhouse. He found that he had the ability to go back and forth between Japan and ancient Rome (only the bathhouses), and after meeting a Japanese woman named Kodatsu Satsuki who runs a hot spring, a series of interesting stories collided. The original manga of "Thermae Romae" was serialized in Comic Beam in 2008 and concluded in 2013. It has five volumes of single-volume manga. It won the 2010 Japan Manga Award selected by bookstore clerks and the 14th Tezuka Osamu Bunka Award for Short Stories, and was adapted into an animation and a movie after it became popular. In the new chapter "The Baths of Rome" opened by Shonen Jump +, Lucis and Satsuki Koda have married and had children, and Antonio succeeded Emperor Hadrian after his death. The manga will begin serialization on February 6th and is scheduled to be released every Tuesday. A total of 5 episodes will be released between February and March, and will be released regularly thereafter. |
