The animated film "Bajie: The Return of the Heavenly King" is scheduled to be released on the first day of the Chinese New Year

Today, the animated film "Bajie: The Heavenly Canopy" was officially announced to be released on the first day of the Year of the Dragon in 2024, and the new hand-painted "Heavenly Canopy New Year" release poster was also released. In the poster, Bajie holds a nine-toothed golden rake and swings out a magnificent landscape scroll, determined to fight the villain "Sai Taisui" to win.

As an animated film with Zhu Bajie as the protagonist, "Bajie: Heavenly Canopy Goes Down to the World" tells a brand new story of Zhu Bajie. Different from the stereotyped image of the second brother who is "gluttonous, lazy and a little selfish", this time the Heavenly Canopy is brave and warm. He fights the demon king for the safety of the world and is willing to be a demon forever for the sake of thousands of demons.

"Bajie: The Heavenly King" is directed by He Ranhao, and Ma Dehua, who played Bajie in the 1986 version of "Journey to the West", makes a guest appearance and voices the character.
