Jenna Ortega, star of Netflix's hit series Wednesdays, has hinted that season 2 of Wednesdays will be "bigger" and that each episode will feel "more like a movie." Before she donned black again to head to Nevermore Academy, Ortega had been working on the script for Wednesday Season 2. She told E! on the Emmys red carpet that the new season will have a twist and turn that's more thriller than weird, with some "action-packed" adventures. “I’ve received some scripts for season two, and we’re definitely going to go even further in terms of horror,” Ortega said. “That’s really exciting because throughout the show, while Wednesday has some growth arcs, she never really changes, and that’s what’s so fascinating about her.” She continued: "There's really, really great stand-up comedy, and I feel like everything is bigger. It's more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel more like a movie, which is great." Variety has previously confirmed that the second season of Wednesday will be filmed in Ireland from Romania, with filming scheduled to begin in April. Ortega has also been named executive producer, meaning she will work closely with director and co-producer Tim Burton, who influenced her to join the show. |
