12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley's Eternals TV series canceled by Marvel executives

12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley's Eternals TV series canceled by Marvel executives

In the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it launched the popular TV series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", and Marvel is also constantly expanding its movie universe through unique spin-off series and other forms.

This creative boom has inspired works such as "Inhumans" and "Cloak & Dagger", and "12 Years a Slave" screenwriter John Ridley has also been invited to participate in one of the works, namely "Eternals".

However, John Ridley recently revealed in an interview with "Comic Book Club" that "the series is no longer in production," although it is "a very good TV version."

"The version I did was the good version," Ridley added. "It's so weird. My version was good, at least it was good to me, but it didn't make any sense. (Marvel) ended up doing something else, and I don't think ... that version was any better, to be honest with you."

The film version of "Eternals" directed by Zhao Ting was released in 2021. Although it brought together many well-known actors such as Angelina Jolie, Dong-seok Ma, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, etc., it did not achieve breakthrough success.
