Amazon confirms third and final season of Neil Gaiman's Good Omens is in production

Amazon recently confirmed that the third season of "Good Omens", the fantasy comedy written by Neil Gaiman, is in production, and also confirmed that this will be the last season of the show.

It is reported that the story of the third season will be based on a story that Neil Gaiman once discussed with the original book co-author Terry Pratchett, who passed away in 2015.

Gaiman said: "I'm delighted to finally be able to finish the story that Terry and I had been planning in 1989 and 2006. Terry had decided that if we did Good Omens for TV, we would be able to continue the story to the end."

In addition, Gaiman also said: "The theme of the first season is about avoiding the doomsday, dangerous prophecies and the end of the world; the second season is sweet and gentle, although its ending may not be as happy as a certain angel and devil (referring to the protagonists) wish; now in the third season, we will once again solve the crisis of the end of the world."

Solving this crisis requires the joint efforts of the two protagonists, but at the end of the second season, an irreversible rift has already occurred between them.

Amazon has not yet announced the release date of Good Omens Season 3, but has said that filming will begin in Scotland "soon." David Tennant and Michael Sheen, who play the two protagonists, have also confirmed their return to the crew, but the rest of the cast has not yet been announced.
