Director Gunn: Luthor actor in Superman: Legacy: He will become a villain to be remembered

The rumors have been confirmed to be true. Actor Nicholas Hoult, who has appeared in "Mad Max", "Menu", "Rainfield" and "Warm Bodies", will play Superman's famous villain Lex Luthor in director James Gunn's DC superhero movie "Superman: Legacy".

On Instagram, Gunn confirmed the news in a post. He said: "While we were discussing it, it wasn't finalized until a few days ago..." and shared a photo of himself and Holt. Gunn then said that he and Holt had dinner recently and discussed what they could do to "create a Lex that is unlike anything you have ever seen before and will never be forgotten."

Hoult, who also played Hank/Beast in the X-Men franchise, was previously reported to be in the running for the role of Superman before actor David Cronuswit was eventually cast for the role.

Superman: Legacy is scheduled to be released on July 11, 2025, but there isn't much news about its plot beyond that.
