Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, and other stars of Snyder's DC Cinematic Universe will not be reprising their current roles in James Gunn and Peter Safran's new universe. According to a new report from Variety, these actors will not be reprising their roles as Aquaman and Wonder Woman. It is currently known that the first chapter of the new DC Universe, "Gods and Monsters," marks the end of several characters, including Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman, but it was originally thought that both Momoa and Gadot might return. But reports suggest that all of Zack Snyder's actors in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League have been cut, meaning Ezra Miller's Flash may also be left out. However, while these stars will not be returning as their current superhero characters, Jason Momoa will be returning as the anti-hero "Lycan," possibly in the 2025 film "Superman: Legacy." The film will bring in a new Superman and Lois, played by David Cronuswit and Rachel Brosnahan. The only previous DC Universe projects that remain unaffected are the characters in Peacemaker, which means Viola Davis will continue to play Amanda Waller and will soon have a standalone series, while John Cena will also return to play the role in Peacemaker Season 2. |
