Barbie movie takes 16 days to break $1 billion in global box office

The Barbie movie has now grossed over $1 billion worldwide in 16 days, making it the second movie in 2023 to achieve this feat, the first being The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which took 26 days.

Director Greta Gerwig became the first female director in history to have a billion-dollar box office with "Barbie":

Lead actress Margot Robbie also proved that she was not "bragging" when she pitched the film to Warner Bros. saying it was a $1 billion project.
