The live-action movie "The Little Mermaid" will be released in North America on May 26, and has been confirmed to be introduced in mainland China. The film is directed by Rob Marshall, and stars Halle Bailey as the mermaid Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Javier Bardem as Ariel's father King Triton, Melissa McCarthy as the villain Ursula, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina as Ariel's friends Flounder and Scuttle, and Daveed Diggs as Sebastian the red crab.

The live-action movie "The Little Mermaid" is adapted from the 1989 animated film version.
