Animal rights group condemns horse death on set of The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings: animal exploitation

Recently, the crew of "The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings" issued a statement saying that a horse died on the set of The Lord of the Rings. The official said: "We are very sad to confirm that a horse involved in the filming died on March 21."

"The incident occurred in the morning while the horse was practicing prior to filming rehearsals. The trainer was not in costume, filming had not officially begun, and veterinarians and representatives from the Humane Society of the United States were present. The autopsy report confirmed that the horse died of heart failure."

According to sources, more than 30 horses were involved in the filming on the day of the incident, and they were going to participate in a battle scene. The horse suffered a cardiac arrest while standing with other horses. After the incident, the staff removed the horse's body and resumed filming.

Animal protection organization PETA issued a statement in response to this incident, condemning the creators and all producers of "The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings" and urging them to make changes. PETA believes that the crew of "The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings" should not exploit animals and should give up using real horses and use computer CG instead.
