"Slam Dunk" movie audience in South Korea exceeded 4 million, setting a new historical record

The animated film "Slam Dunk THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" suddenly became a hit in Korean theaters on January 4 this year. It has been broadcast in Korea for 68 days. According to the latest statistics, the total number of viewers has exceeded 4 million, which is almost one-tenth of the total population of South Korea, creating a new historical record for Japanese animated films and it is the first of its kind.

The movie "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" was written and directed by the original author Takehiko Inoue, produced by Toei Animation, and composed by Takebe Satoshi and 10-FEET. It was released in Japan on December 3 and landed in Korean theaters on January 4, quickly topping the box office charts for 12 consecutive days. It also led to a boom in the sales of the comic version, sparking discussions about the improvement of South Korea-Japan relations.

In addition, "The First Slam Dunk" is scheduled to release an IMAX version in April. I believe that the slam dunk craze will be sweeping the country again by then. The film has been scheduled to be released in China on April 20, so fans who are interested just need to wait a little longer.
