Madonna biopic suddenly stopped filming: put on hold indefinitely

The Madonna biopic, written and directed by Madonna, has entered the preparatory stage of actual filming since its preparation in 2020. According to Variety's exclusive report, Madonna's biopic co-produced with Universal Pictures has been suspended. The report said that Madonna is now focusing on her world tour, but she still hopes to make her biopic in the future.

The biopic was originally written by Diablo Cody and Madonna, but Cody later withdrew and Madonna asked Erin Cressida Wilson to take over. Julia Garner was Madonna's choice, but she has not commented on the suspension of filming.
