New stills from the American TV series "American Born Chinese" reveal Guanyin and the Monkey King in the same frame

The latest stills of the American TV series "American Born Chinese" were recently exposed. Michelle Yeoh plays Guanyin and Daniel Wu plays the Monkey King in the same frame, Freddy Wong played by Kwan Ji-wai also appears, as well as Ben Wong as Wang Jin and Liu Jing as the exchange student Wei Chen.

Based on the bestselling graphic novel of the same name by Michelle Yeoh, "American Born Chinese" will premiere in spring 2023. Michelle Yeoh plays Guanyin, a humble aunt who helps her nephew Wei Chen navigate the challenges of an American high school while keeping her secret identity as the goddess of mercy. Tiffany Hsu plays Shiji Niangniang, who works in a jewelry store with her magical dog. And Stephen Kwan plays Freddy Wong, a fictional 1990s sitcom star.
