"Chainsaw Man" fans launched a petition to remake the animation and received 2,000 signatures

Recently, a fan spontaneously launched a petition to "remake" the "Chainsaw Man" animation. Currently, the petition has more than 2,000 signatures. The petition claims that the animation production studio MAPPA is dissatisfied with the adaptation of the original work and demands that a new supervisor be selected to remake the animation.

According to the petition author, the anime received polarizing reviews because the animation direction weakened the manga's heavy violence and comedy elements. The author cited the protagonist's deleted lines in episode 1 and the battle scene in episode 9 as examples, trying to prove that the animation's supervisor "misunderstood the original work's themes and foreshadowing."

The petition further highlights criticisms of the anime's pacing, including a claim that "too much time was spent before the 'Samurai Sword' plot chapter." The author also criticized the main character Denji, played by Kikunosuke Totani, saying his performance was "too gloomy and did not convey how crazy Denji is."

The deadline for petitions is December 31st.
