HBO's The Last of Us trailer 2

HBO has released a new trailer for its live-action series based on the PlayStation game The Last of Us.

The series, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, will premiere on HBO Max on January 15, 2023, and will be broadcast on Sky in the UK a day later.

The Last of Us is the first TV series produced by PlayStation Productions, a company established by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).

The game, which is being written and executive produced by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog vice president Neil Druckmann, will cover the events of the first game and may include content based on The Last of Us: Part Two.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will play the protagonists Joel and Ellie. Actor Thandie Newton's daughter Nick Park (Dumbo) will play Joel's daughter Sarah, and Gabriel Luna (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will play Joel's brother Tommy.

HBO released the first trailer for The Last of Us in September.
