Hiroya Oku talks about changes in the comics industry. Many new assistants work remotely, making it difficult to grow.

As we all know, Japanese cartoonists have adopted the assistant cartoon system since ancient times, which is similar to the apprentice system in my country. In the past, many famous cartoonists became masters through the assistant stage. Recently, "GANTZ" cartoonist Oku Hiroya talked about the changes in the cartoon industry. Now many new assistants work remotely and it is difficult for them to learn and grow.

Oh Hiroya said that in the past, assistants learned all kinds of comics knowledge by working with their masters on the spot, practicing their drawing skills while accumulating experience for their own works. Many famous cartoonists grew up through this process.

Nowadays, perhaps due to the epidemic or the development of the Internet, the traditional methods are finally changing slowly . New assistants rarely come to the scene to receive the master's words and deeds, which is not beneficial for their future growth.
