The light novel adaptation animation "The Detective is Dead.", which announced the decision to produce the second season on July 24, released a second season congratulatory picture today (July 26). The light novel is written by Niyuju and tells the story of high school student Kimizuka Kimihiko, who partners with detective Shesta, and goes through various adventures over the past three years. After Shesta's death, he is involved in new events connected to this experience. The first season of the animation premiered on July 4, 2021, with a total of 12 episodes. The production company is ENGI, and it is exclusively broadcast in China on Bilibili.
