The Winchesters, the prequel to Supernatural, have their stars confirmed

According to Entertainment Weekly, the leading actors of the pilot episode of the American TV series "Supernatural", the prequel series "The Winchesters", have been confirmed. Actors Meg Donnelly ("American Housewife") and Drake Rodger will play the mother and father of the protagonists Sam and Dean Winchester in "Supernatural".

Deadline had previously reported on two other actors who will be appearing in the pilot, namely Nida Khurshi, who will play a young demon hunter, Latika Desai, and Jojo Fleites, whose role has not yet been announced.

In 2020, The CW's Supernatural ended its career after an astonishing 15 seasons. The series follows brothers Sam and Dean Winchester as they hunt demons, evil spirits, monsters, and other supernatural creatures, and engage in the struggle between heaven and hell. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the prequel will tell the story of the Winchester family from Dean's perspective, and Dean's actor James Ackles will star as the narrator of the pilot episode. The new series calls itself "an epic untold love story about how John and Mary (the parents) met and took a risk that not only saved their love, but also saved the world."

Further plot synopsis and character information provided by Entertainment Weekly reveals that Mary will be a 19-year-old girl who has been "fighting dark forces" since she was a child, while John is a "selfless and clear-headed" Vietnam veteran. When a personal tragedy causes Mary to consider quitting the family business, John's arrival - coupled with the disappearance of her father - sets her on a new journey.
